About Sara Womble
Sara Womble is currently a Steven and Jane Aiken Emerging Artist at Boston Lyric Opera, where she made her debut as Barbarina in BLO’s 2017 production of Le nozze di Figaro. During the 2017/18 season, Sara appears as the Shepherdess in BLO’s Tosca, and makes her debut with North Carolina Opera singing Countess Ceprano in Rigoletto. She also makes her North Carolina concert debut as a soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Winston-Salem Symphony. In the fall of 2018, she will create the leading role of A Girl in the world premiere of Tod Machover’s Schoenberg in Hollywood with BLO.
Recent engagements include Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with Point Loma Opera, Lady Ella in Patience with Odyssey Opera, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni as an apprentice artist with Opera NEO. Sara received her Master’s degree from Boston University, as a student of Sharon Daniels. Her roles at BU included La Fée in Cendrillon, Rosalba in Florencia en el Amazonas, Ruth Baldwin in Later the Same Evening, and Presendia in Dark Sisters.
