About Alexandra LoBianco

Last season soprano Alexandra LoBianco made her NCO debut singing the title role in Tosca. This season she makes her Metropolitan Opera debut in Der Rosenkavalier conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, returns to The Santa Fe Opera as the Foreign Princess in Rusalka and Lyric Opera of Chicago as Helmwige in Die Walküre (a role she also sang with the company during the 2017-18 season), and debuts at Palm Beach Opera singing the title role in Turandot

Highlights of the 2018-19 season included Chrysothemis and the Fourth Maid in Elektra with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Senta in Der fliegende Holländer with Baltimore Concert Opera, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 with Madison Symphony, where she previously sang Rachmaninoff’s The Bells. She made her European debut as Leonore in Fidelio at the Vienna State Opera and subsequently returned there as Helmwige.
 
Operatic highlights of previous seasons have included the title role in Aida with Seattle Opera and Opera Colorado, the title role in Tosca with Minnesota Opera, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Seattle Opera, Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw with The Dallas Opera, Amelia in Un ballo in maschera with Florida Grand Opera, Ariadne/Prima Donna in Ariadne auf Naxos with Austin Opera, and both the title role in Turandot and Minnie in La fanciulla del West with Des Moines Metro Opera.  
 
She is a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
