Returning back to Seattle Opera, Mr. Lau makes a new role debut as Alidoro in La Cenerentola. Later in the season, he makes his role debut as Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor at Lyric Opera of Kansas City. Following these performances, he will make his role debut as Zuniga in Carmen with Master Voices at Lincoln Center. Concluding the operatic season, Mr. Lau returns to Dallas Opera to sing Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
In addition, Mr. Lau continues his commitment to the concert repertoire. Highlights of his 2019-2020 season include performing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Handel’s Messiah with San Francisco Symphony, and Handel’s Messiah with both the Oratorio Society of New York and Musica Sacra.
American bass Adam Lau, praised as a “bass of real quality, with sonorous low notes,” continues a busy and active career with a wide range of operatic and concert dates in the 2019-2020.
Adam Lau won First Prize in the 2016 Jensen Vocal Competition and Top Prize in the 2015 George London Competition. He was also a finalist in the 2016 Dallas Opera Competition. He has appeared with such opera companies as Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Dallas Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Utah Opera, and North Carolina Opera, as well as with some of the nation’s leading summer programs including Merola Opera Center, Aspen Opera Theater, and Santa Fe Opera.
