Soprano Kaitie Fernandez Lawson made her chorus debut with North Carolina Opera’s 2013 production of Aida, and she has been a faithful chorus member ever since. 

Kaitie has also participated in North Carolina Opera’s recent productions, including Pagliacci (‘20), Carmen (’19), and Norma (’18).  She has premiered music by local composer Michael Glasgow’s Requiem in collaboration with MidAmerica Productions with performances at Carnegie Hall (’17) and Minoritenkirche, Vienna (’19).  She has also presented solo recitals consisting of classical and musical theatre repertoire at Ruggero Piano Bösendorfer Recital Hall. 


Kaitie is a member of the North Raleigh United Methodist Church Chancel Choir and High Notes Chamber Choir where she is a featured soprano soloist.  She has been studying private voice in Studio Fabio under the teachings of Lora Fabio since 2013.

Kaitie is a Biostatistician at Cytel and has a Master of Science in Biostatistics from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
