Jeffrey Buchman makes his NCO debut as the stage director of Die Zauberflöte. He is Stage Director for the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.
Recent performances include La bohème for both Opera Naples and Toledo Opera and L’enfant et les Sortileges for the University of Miami, La traviata for Opera Naples as well as three productions for Florida Grand Opera: Three Decembers; New York Stories, and a double bill of Trouble in Tahiti and Signor Deluso. Future engagements include Aida for Toledo Opera and Opera Carolina.
In recent seasons, he directed La bohème at Florida Grand Opera, Roméo et Juliette for The Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA), Carmen for both Opera Carolina, Toledo Opera, and Opera Naples, La traviata, Don Giovanni and Die Zauberflöte for AVA, As One for Hawaii Opera Theater, Ricky Ian Gordon’s 27 for Michigan Opera Theatre, Le nozze di Figaro and Madama Butterfly for Opera Naples, and the world premiere of TESLA for the SoBe Arts Festival.
He has led productions of Carmen, La bohème, and La traviata for Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. Other credits include Die Zauberflöte for Opera Naples and Florida Grand Opera, where he also directed productions of Rigoletto and Eugene Onegin. He directed Carmen at The Atlanta Opera, a new production of Faust, Turandot, Don Pasquale, and Il trovatore for Opera Naples, Il barbiere di Siviglia for Baltimore Opera, and Tosca with Opera Tampa.
